Sealyham Terrier

Breed: Sealyham Terrier Find Litters

This Welsh breed took its name from the village where it originated, in Pembrokeshire on the river Seal. Originally the breed was used to hunt small game, and to eliminate vermin. These dogs became fashionable after the First World War with owners such as Humphrey Bogart, Elizabeth Taylor, Agatha Christie, Cary Grant and Alfred Hitchcock. They make loyal family companions but can also be trained as working dogs.

The Sealyham Terrier’s main hereditary problem is an eye condition called lens luxation. They are also susceptible to retinal dysplasia and deafness.
